Richard Green

Richard Green resides in Sydney he has been painting and drawing for more than 40 years and his interest is in depicting art that displays the landscape of bushland areas, rural farmland, rivers and the coast. He enjoys painting in oils mostly and in more recent times he has also taken up pastel drawing.

His passion for art lead him to the Australian outback where he discovered a strong interest in geology, subsequently becoming a Geologist. Richard appreciates the geological history of our ancient continent of Australia and recognizes that it has taken millions of years to develop our unique landscapes.

Richard lived in Grafton with his family where he worked for two decades before moving back to Sydney. In that time, he has painted various landscape scenes and explored the terrain around the Clarence Valley and surrounding regions. He has painted the beauty of these areas including river scenes and the beaches around  Yamba, the Coffs Coast and Byron Bay.

Now Richard has been regularly exhibiting at the Kurnell Art Gallery south of Sydney.

Last year he was involved in the Green Families first Sydney art exhibition at Kurnell:

  • Green Family Art, Exhibition September 2020.

Richard is currently enjoying painting scenes around Cronulla, Kurnell, Sydney and the Blue Mountains area. He is an active member of the Southern Cross Art Group located at Mortdale in southern Sydney.
